The Yahoo logo has remained pretty much the same for the past decade, with the only difference being a colour change to purple. So it was a bit surprising that the internet giant announced they will be unveiling a major rebrand on September 5. Yahoo have confirmed that the exclamation mark and the logo's purple colouring will be retained.
The company has made changes in an attempt to improve its email, photo sharing, weather and news products. With the inclusion of Tumblr, Yahoo! is ready to extend their reach, and its upcoming logo will aim to empathise this new spirit.
What's interesting here is the use of the phrase "To get everyone warmed up, we are kicking off 30 days of change".
Large brands have become increasingly nervous about launching new identities . A lot has been written about the need to get consumers onside and inform them of the impending change. This project looks to be very much in that vein, getting Yahoo! customers used to the idea of change, and showing them how the logo may evolve.

I am really very excited and looking forward to the new logo as it is hardly gone though unnoticeable changes since I saw it. Really hoping for an elegant and eye catchy one this time. A high-quality logo will really sharpen their image all together.

The redesign is ushering in a new era, and hopefully a more focused one with a lot of projects getting attention they deserved.

I have worked at Yahoo for the last two year. I started before Marissa did and the morale has shot up immensely. The redesign is ushering in a new era, and hopefully a more focused one with a lot of projects getting attention they deserved. Comments are closed.
